News Tiny-blog

Tiny: is this one blogging platform too many?

Digg’s founder Kevin Rose has a new idea. It’s not a good one.

Rose wants to create a new blogging platform called Tiny. The idea is to make reading a person’s blog more personal by putting a blurred picture of the writer in the background.

According to Rose, this would offer readers a glimpse of the author “as they’re writing”. There would be a different background picture for every blog post, so it’d almost be like you’re bearing witness to what the author was thinking at that particular moment.

Yeah, I’m still not convinced.

In a massively competitive market where you’ve already got WordPress, Tumblr and Blogger vying for user attention (and that’s just the big three) it doesn’t seem like there’s much room for the aptly named Tiny,¬†particularly as Ghost has officially launched this week.
